Mrs Dorothy (Pearson) Abbott, 74, of 153 Elm St., widow of James Trumbull Abbott, died Tuesday in Kennebunk, Me. A lifelong resident of Northampton, she was a daughter of Dana and Lucy (Wright) Pearson and was a graduate of Smith College in the class of 1911. She was a member of the Hampshire County Smith Club, 19th Century Club, of the board of managers of the Lathrop Home, the Zonta Club, Betty Allen Chapter DAR, and the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Aid Association. She leaves a brother, Dana E Pearson of New York City, and two nephews. The funeral will be held at Charles R. Dutton funeral home Thursday at 4 with Rev. Edwin H. Spoonseller, pastor of First Church of Christ, Congregational, officiating. Burial will be in Bridge Street Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are tonight from 7 to 9.
