ROBERT F. BUSHMAN, age 78, a lifelong resident of St. Nazianz, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at the Manitowoc County Health Care Center.
Robert was born on Feb. 22, 1929, son of the late Frank J. and Stephania
(Horn) Bushman. He graduated from Valders High School in 1947. On July 24, 1957, he married the former Elaine Dunn at St. Gregory Church, St. Nazianz. Robert was a carpenter with his dad when he was young, and they razed many local barns and built many homes. It made him sad to see the
old barns fall away. Later Robert worked for the Salvatorian Sisters at their convent in St. Nazianz for 35 years, retiring in 2000. His most treasured
pastime and memories were his weeks spent skiing the Alps. He loved to
travel and touched many lives. Robert never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by many.
(Survivors omitted for privacy.)
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Francis X. and Theodore J. Bushman; one sister: Sister Rose Marie Bushman; and one nephew: Patrick Bushman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial will be the Rev. Gregory Coulthard with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at St. Gregory's Church, St. Nazianz. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Elaine wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Manitowoc County Health Care Center for the care and compassion given to Bob. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, who was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. God speed!
