PERU – John Boswell, 79, of Peru, died Saturday night in Physicians Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Boswell was born in Peru, Aug. 5, 1884, a son of the late Patrick Boswell and Della Downs Boswell.

Mr. Boswell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward McCormick and Mrs. Bernard Jarvis, both of Peru; two sons, Patrick and Raphael, both of Peru; five sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Covel, Miss Katherine Boswell, all of Peru, Mrs. Abbie Martin of Bloomingdale, and Mrs. Mary Higgins of Rainbow Lake; two brothers, Hugh Boswell of Peru and Thomas Boswell of Ossining; eleven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church in West Peru, with burial in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru. The body is at DeLorme Funeral Home where calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

PERU – A High Requiem Mass was celebrated Tuesday in St. Patrick's Church, West Peru, for John Boswell of Peru, who died Saturday at the age of 79.

The Rev. Joseph Sestito was celebrant of the Mass.

Edgar, John and Raymond Downs, Vincent Boswell, Everest Allen and Leonard Downs were bearers.

Burial was in St. Augustine's Cemetery where Father Sestito recited committal prayers.
