Jerry Frick, loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle will be missed by all. Born to Jerry and Abbie Frick in Gooding, Idaho, he was raised in a loving home with his older sisters, Edith and Mary. Jerry graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. He started his 34 year career with Bonneville Power Administration in 1950 in Portland. In 1957, Jerry moved to Walla Walla and eventually became Area Engineer. In 1979, he returned to Portland as Engineering Manager and retired in 1984 as Deputy Chief Engineer. Following his successful career with BPA, he traveled as a field representative for Electric Power Research Institute.
Jerry met Elsie Skurdahl in Portland. They were married in 1953 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. He and Elsie were active members in the Lutheran Church. Other interests included fly fishing, hunting, golf and basketball.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie and sisters, Edith and Mary.
Jerry is survived by his son, Larry Frick of Portland; daughter, Patty Myers of Olympia; and grandchildren, Kelly, Robin and Logan Myers, and Rebecca Frick.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1700 NE 132nd Ave., Portland. Private interment at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements through Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.
