MRS. T. A. M'SHANE DIES IN NEW YORK CITY
End Comes Suddenly After Attack of Paralysis – Was Enroute Home.
Son Is Called From Omaha to Bedside, but Arrives After Her Death.
Mrs. Thomas A. McShane died in New York City this morning. She had reached New York last Tuesday with her daughter, Miss Margaret McShane, whose illness in Switzerland had called her son, Thomas J. McShane, to Switzerland in August. Miss McShane had made a fine recovery and it was to allow her to rest that the mother stayed over, intending to start for home the first of the week. The son came on, reaching here Friday. She was stricken Sunday with paralysis. The news of his mother's sudden illness recalled him Sunday night, his married sister, Mrs. Colling, going with him. They couldn't reach the side of the mother in time to see her alive.
Mrs. McShane, whose maiden name was Cecilia Taggart, was married thirty-two years ago to Thomas A. McShane in Ohio, and came to Omaha as a bride. Her husband died a number of years ago. She is survived by her three children and by her brothers, J. A. Taggart of this city, Dr. Taggart of Seattle, and Charles E. Taggart, Victor, Colo.
Mrs. McShane was unusually active in church and charity.
She was 57 years of age.
The body will arrive Thursday morning.
The funeral will be held from her home to St. John's church, Twenty-fifth and California streets, at 10 o'clock Friday morning.

Funeral Tells of High Esteem in Which She Was Held.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful, but the services at the church were simple in accordance with the wishes of the family. No eulogy was pronounced, but the large attendance spoke eloquently of the high esteem in which Mrs. McShane was held in Omaha.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Cecilia McShane was held from St. Johns church this morning. The remains arrived in Omaha Thursday morning over the Burlington accompanied by Thomas J. McShane, Miss Margaret McShane, and Mrs. W. G. Colling, son and daughters of Mrs. McShane and Rev. A. J. McCann of Danville, Pa., a cousin of Mrs. McShane.
