According to the Omaha death register he was 34 years and 6 months old, residence 23rd & Cuming streets, died of an aortic aneurysm on January 18, 1883, following an illness of six months, and was buried January 20. His burial card states he died January 18, 1883, age 34 years, and was buried January 20.

"T. A. McSHANE, groceries and provisions, commenced business in 1880; carries a stock of $4,000. He was born in Perry County, Ohio, July 16, 1848; came to Nebraska in 1869, locating in Omaha, remaining only a short time. He then went to Wyoming Territory, where he engaged in the cattle business some nine years. He then returned to Perry County, Ohio, and after taking a trip to Europe, he returned to Nebraska and settled in Omaha. He was married in Perry County, Ohio, February 13, 1877, to Celia Taggart. They have two children living, Thomas J. and Alice. Mr. McShane is a member of the Roman Catholic Church."

Death of Thomas A. McShane.

Mr. Thomas A. McShane died yesterday at his residence, after a protracted illness, at the age of 34 years and 6 months. He had been engaged for some time, until quite recently, in the grocery business at the corner of Cuming and Twenty-third streets. He was a brother of John A. McShane and Felix McShane, and leaves a wife and two children.

The deceased was born in Perry county, Ohio, July 16th, 1848 and came to Nebraska in 1869, locating in Omaha. He remained here but a short time and then went to Wyoming, where he engaged in the cattle business some nine years. He then returned to Perry county, Ohio, and after making a trip to Europe, returned to Nebraska and settled in Omaha. He was married in February, 1877, in Perry county, Ohio.

Funeral of T. A. McShane.

The funeral of Thomas A. McShane took place from his late residence, Cuming and Twenty-third streets, yesterday morning. It was largely attended despite the cold weather. At the church of the Holy Family, corner of Izard and Seventeenth streets, solemn high mass was sung, Father Shaffel, S. J., acting as celebrant; Father Hillman acting as deacon, and Mr. Bergin, S. J., as sub-deacon. Following the mass, came the reading of the burial service by Father Shaffel, assisted by Father Hillman, after which a short address on the uncertainty of life, the certainty of death and the necessity of being prepared for it at all times. He also referred to the edifying manner in which the deceased had prepared for death, as to the liberality and charity which had distinguished him. He closed with an appeal to the relatives and friends for a fervent offering of prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

The casket was then borne to the hearse by the following friends of the deceased: John McGinn, Thomas Swift, Matt Clare, M. Donovan, T. A. Leary, T. Tallon and P. P. Shelby. The funeral cortege then proceeded to the Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Funeral of T. A. McShane.
