Mrs. C. M Furay Dead; Resided in Omaha 50 Years

Mrs. Catherine M. Furay, 77 years old, for fifty years a resident of Omaha, died last evening at her home, 115 South Thirty-fourth street, of ills incident to extreme age. She had been in poor health for over a year.

Mrs. Furay, the elder sister of the McShane brothers, John A., Felix A. and Edward, and sister of Mrs. Ellen Cannon, came to Omaha as the bride of the late Major John B. Furay, who died about ten years ago. She was a niece of Edward Creighton and of Count Creighton and was a woman of most generous and charitable character.

She is survived by two daughters and five sons. The daughters are Mrs. Lee L. Daly of St. Louis and Miss Mary C. Furay, at home. The sons: Dr. E. S. Furay, Lakewood, N. M.; Charles E., Omaha; the Rev. John B., S.J., president of St. Ignatius college, Chicago; J. H., foreign editor of the United Press, New York, and Guy V., Omaha.

The late Frank Furay and late Lieutenant Clarence Furay, U. S. A., were her children.

Arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.

Funeral Mrs. McShane Furay.

Funeral of Mrs. Catherine McShane Furay, who died Wednesday, was held yesterday morning at the church of St. John, Twenty-fifth and California streets. The Rev. John S. Furay, S. J., son of the dead woman, celebrated a requiem high mass, which was attended by a notable gathering of church men.

Bishop McGovern of Cheyenne, Wyo., pronounced the blessing and the celebrant was assisted by the Rev. J. S. McCarty of St. Peter's, as deacon, and the Rev. W. T. Kinsella, S. J., of Creighton university, as sub-deacon.

Pallbearers were Frank J. Burkley, T. P. Redmond, J. A. C. Kennedy, Charles D. Beaton, E. H. Barrett, James L. Woodard, F. J. McArdle and Morris Hussie.

Burial was in Holy Sepulcher cemetery.
