School Hill – Christian Scharenbrock died Friday, Oct. 15, at his home in School Hill at the age of 81 years, after an illness with kidney trouble and other complications.

He was born Feb. 2, 1845, in Germany, near Cologne. At the age of 10, he came to America with his parents who settled on their homestead near School Hill, where Mr. Scharenbrock lived until 7 years ago, when he turned his farm over to his son, Joseph, and settled in the village of School Hill.
His marriage to Mary Maddalen Herr took place in 1871. He was one of the first settlers here, having lived here 71 years, and was one of the founders of Trinity church at School Hill. He was a respected citizen of this neighborhood and liked by all who knew him.

The survivors are, his widow, 7 sons and 3 daughters, Joseph on the old homestead, William on a farm near School Hill, John C. on a farm near Manitowoc and Peter A. At home; Mrs. A. P. Mallmann of Sheboygan, Mrs. Nels Lotten of School Hill, and Miss Anna in California, and 18 grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday morning at the Catholic Church at School Hill, of which the deceased was a life-long member. Many relatives and friends from far and near attended.
