George S. Chalcraft, 49, well known farmer of Edwards County, passed away at his home west of Albion Tuesday night about 11:00 following a heart attack. He had been subject to heart trouble for some years, but had worked all day Tuesday cutting hay and had done his evening chores as usual.
Deceased, son of George and Bertha Smith Chalcraft, was born in Edwards County Oct 13, 1894. Surviving are his wife and five children, namely; Harold of Maroa, Mrs. Floyd Ewing of Indian Springs Texas; Mrs. Donald Schmidt of Albion, Francis of Camp McCoy, Wis, who was inducted into the army only a week ago, and Norma Jean at home. He also leaves his mother and a brother Herbert of Albion. He is preceded in death by his father and one sister Elizabeth.
Deceased was prominently identified in Republican politics and served as committeeman from Ellery precinct for some years. Funeral arrangements have not been completed at press time.
Funeral of Geo S. Chalcraft Friday Afternoon Funeral services for George S. Chalcraft who passed away at his home in Albion on Tuesday night of last week were held at the Christian Church here Friday afternoon at 2:00, Rev A.B. Gill officiating. Interment was at Graceland.
