Madge Wimbro Butler, 92, died Wednesday at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
She was a native of Whaleyville, Md., and had lived in Palatka from 1942-1987, coming from Melbourne. She then moved to Fruitland, Md., to live with her daughter due to declining health. She taught in the Putnam County school system for 28 years. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She was a 1920 graduate of Western Maryland College in Westminster, Md.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Butler Ames of Fruitland, Md.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. James United Methodist Church with the Rev. Craig Andrus officiating. Burial will be in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
