Born in Minersville, Ohio, he was a lifelong resident of Akron, a World War II veteran, and retired from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1981 with 40 years service. Frank was well known among friends and area churches for his extensive Biblical knowledge and his strong stand on the King James Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; children and spouses, Shirley and Darwin Elliott, Mary and Joseph Selander, and William Blessing; granddaughters, Jennifer Elliott and Sandi Blessing; grandsons, Eric, Jonathan (Karen), Benjamin, and Chad Selander, and Mark Elliott; great-granddaughter, Emily Selander; brother, Byron (Sally) of Oregon; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 12 noon until 2 p.m., at the Eckard-Baldwin Funeral Home, 760 E. Market St. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park; military services will be conducted. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church, 1811 Brittain Rd., Rev. Sherman L. Bailey officiating. No flowers; memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
