Funeral services for Alta B. Cameron-Ward, 96, of West Ridge Drive, Fostoria, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, the Rev. Richard W. Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Emma Pillars Garden of Memory in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
Visitation will be held an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cameron-Ward died at 1:25 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2001 at Independence House, Fostoria.
She was born Dec. 24, 1904 in Perry Township, Wood County to Wilson and Amanda (Bowers) Stearns. She married George R. Cameron in 1929, and he died in 1948. She later married C. Richard Ward in 1950, and he died in 1976.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Gray, Fostoria; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Cameron; a stepson, W. Thomas Ward; a grandchild; four brothers, Louis, Fred, Herschel and Guy Stearns; and a sister, Florence Whitman.
Mrs. Cameron-Ward was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, Fostoria Country Club and Catawba Island Club. She was a former member of Fostoria Chapter 94 OES.
Mrs. Cameron-Ward graduated in 1922 from Fostoria High School. She also graduated from Tiffin Business College.
