Lucy Morris Guffey was the wife of Ephraim Underwood Guffey. Descriptions of her birth vary from 1816 to 1819; however, most records are consistant that she was born in Tennessee.

Lucy and Ephraim were the parents of twelve known children - Sarah Jane (Bridges), Edsel, Charles Underwood, John L., Ephraim Berry, James Henry, Samuel Sampson, Lydia L. (Morris), W. Denver, Martha Elizabeth, Leticia Lucinda, and Elijah Pierce.

She is first named as the wife of Ephraim U. Guffey in the 1850 US Federal Census, and last appears in the 1870 Census. In 1880, Ephraim U. appears in the census as a widower, indicating Lucy had died between 1870 and 1880.

Her grave at the Guffey Cemetery is marked by a rock.
