Mrs. Caroline Dunn, 78, who became a resident of Elkhart 50 years ago, died at 8:30 Wednesday night at her home, 813 Monroe street. She had been bedfast since last November, and was fatally stricken with apoplexy a week ago.

The funeral service will be held at the Meyer mortuary, 216 West High street, at 2 p.m. Saturday, in charge of the Rev. Lawrence S. Ashley of the Central Christian church. Burial will be in Grace Lawn cemetery. The body may be viewed at the mortuary after Friday noon until the hour of the service.

Mrs. Dunn, who was the daughter of George and Sarah (Miller) Witter, was born on a farm just west of South Bend, July 11, 1858. Her marriage to James A. Dunn took place March 18, 1880, and after spending the next six years on a Baugo township farm they moved to Elkhart. Their residence here was broken by a six-year stay in Bristol. Mr. Dunn died in Elkhart, in August, 1910.

Surviving Mrs. Dunn are three daughters, Elva J. Dunn, at the maternal home, and Mrs. William (Lura) Day and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Meyers, both of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two brothers, Harry and Martin Witter of South Bend.
