John Kamionka
John Kamionka, one of the oldest resident of Slocum Township, RD 1, Wapwallopen, died at his home Wednesday morning after an illness.
Born in Poland, he came to the United States, settling in Wanamie in 1912. He resided in Slocum Twp. since 1921. He worked as a miner at the Glen Alden Coal Co. Wanamie colliery, retiring in 1947. He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Glen Lyon, and a charter member of its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Vincent Strzelecki, of Slocum; Mrs. Joseph Kubricki, with whom he resided; sons, Anthony and Adam, both of Slocum Township; Joseph, Mountaintop; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mrs. Juli Bobula, Detroit; brother, Leon of Poland.
Funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 from George A. Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Michael's Church. Interment in the parish cemetery.
