Erica Brown, 23, of River, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Staffordsville. Born Aug. 1, 1984, in Clark County, Ohio, she was a daughter of Brian and Nita Allen Brown. She was a teacher with the Johnson County School System. Additional survivors include paternal grandparents, Marshall and Kathleen Brown of Springfield, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Thomas Allen of Springfield, and Margaret Allen of River; maternal step-grandmother, Betty Allen of Springfield; a brother, Timothy Brown of River; and a sister, Jennifer Brown of Riceville. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 25, at Preston Funeral Chapel, Paintsville, with Greg Minix officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, River, under direction of Preston Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Erica Brown Scholarship Fund by contacting Preston Funeral Home, (606) 789-4212.
