He was a featured singer on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville Tennessee in the early 1960s, appearing there about 35 times. He recorded several records under various labels throughout the years, some reaching national charts. Meanwhile, he owned and operated bars and night clubs in Madison Wisconsin and Tampa Florida. He made regular appearances on radio and television. In later years he became a thoroughbred horse owner and trainer, racing at Tampa Bay Downs and other race tracks around the country.
