Mary Kocurek, 89, of Corpus Christi, passed away July 1, 1992.

She was born February 6, 1903 in Williamson County, Texas and had lived in Corpus Christi since 1923. She was the last surviving child of ten children born to Frank and Julia Janosek Tomecek. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a member of St. Peter Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kocurek Sr.; a granddaughter, Linda Kocurek Dugas; and a son-in-law, Louis Edwin Debates.

She is survived by five sons, John Kocurek Jr. of Beaumont, Bennie F. Kocurek and Eugene W. Kocurek, both of Corpus Christi, George Kocurek of Houston, and Daniel J. Kocurek of Austin; two daughters, Dorothy Mae DeBates of Perris, California, and Evelyn J. Howell of Houston; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Public visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.n. Sunday, July 5, 1992 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited 8 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 1992 in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Violet Road. Funeral Mass will be con-celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, 1992 in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Louis Joseph, Rev. Matthew Lyng, Rev. Tim Kinast, Msgr. Patrick Higgins, and Rev. John Killeen, as Celebrants. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Kocurek, Larry Kocurek, Eugene Kocurek Jr., John Edwin Kocurek, Mark Poche, and Louis Petru.

Those who wish may make Mass intentions in lieu of flowers.
