Isabel L. Martin, age 95, of Canton, MO passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 10:30 p.m. at Sunset Home in Quincy, IL.
She was born January 24, 1918 at Canton, MO a daughter of Melven and Orella Parker Gruber. She married Keith Martin on September 5, 1937. He died August 3, 1977
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Canton, MO. Isabel loved to cook and fish and spend time with her family. She had also operated the Snack Shack in Canton and Izzy's Diner in Derrahs, MO
Survivors include her daughter, Jodel (Lee Edward) Dye of Canton; daughter in law Teresa Martin of Canton; one sister, Donna Briscoe of Lenden, MI; three grandchildren, Debi Geisenhaver of Flint, MI, Rick (Brenda) Martin of Canton and Page Jett of Quincy, IL; great grandchildren, Shane (Tonia) Martin of Hallsville, MO, Brian (Bethany) Martin of Corpus Christi, TX, Derryck Davis of Canton; great great grandchildren, Tanner, and Haley Martin of Hallsville and Gracyn and Ethan Martin of Corpus Christi and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Donald Martin, two sisters, Mary Jo Fishback and Ruby Dell Bronestine and one great grandson Adam Martin.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Brian Stone officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.
The family suggests memorials be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Canton First Baptist Church.
