"Mrs. Mary Hunnell Patton, widow of Dr. A. B. Patton, died at her home on East Main Street, Wednesday evening, December 24, at 10:30 o'clock, aged 66 years, after a short illness from Bright's disease. She had been in failing health for several months, but her condition was not considered serious until Tuesday. Her death was a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Patton was a daughter of Morgan H. and Caroline Hunnell, deceased, and had spent her entire life in Waynesburg. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church and was most highly esteemed. She taught music for a number of years and for many years was organist in the M. E. church. In 1880 she was united in marriage with Dr. A. B. Patton, whose death occurred October 9, 1918. Four children survive: Mrs. John B. Miller and John Patton, of Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Russell Lippincott, of Washington, Pa., and Harry Patton, at home. One sister, Mrs. Morris Williams, of Waynesburg, also survives. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by the Rev. F. D. Esenwein. Interment in Green Mount cemetery." [She was actually buried in Oakmont Cemetery.]
