PINEHURST, N.C. - Romayne Mumper Van Sant, 73, of Pinehurst, and formerly of Camp Hill, Pa.
Romayne was a graduate of Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and founded local chapters of Phi Beta Phi and the Panhellenic Council in Whispering Pines. She was a member of the Pinehurst Women's Exchange; Paramedic Association and Browson Presbyterian Church, both of Southern Pines; and the Whispering Pines Country Club.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick R. Van Sant; a son, Frederick B. II of Lafayette, Ind.; a daughter, Adair New of Plant City, Fla.; a sister, Martha Mumper Michener of Landisburg, Pa., and Palm Beach, Fla.; and a grandson.
