Clara C. Ewen, age 101, formerly of 208 Packer Drive, Francis Creek, died on Thursday night, June 14, 2007, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
The former Clara Kochan was born on Aug. 12, 1905, in Edgar, daughter of the late August and Theresa Bernam Kochan. She married William L. Ewen on July 13, 1927, in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1984. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Adult Choir, St. Anne Mission Ladies and Christian Mothers Altar Society, Catholic Knights Branch 86, and the Francis Creek-Rockwood Senior Citizens.
Clara is survived by two sons and three daughters-in-law: Art (Carol) Ewen, Francis Creek; Bob (Ann) Ewen, Haymarket, Va.; LaVerne Ewen, Francis Creek; 11 grandchildren: Leah Gay; Gay (Tom) Bieberitz; Tim (Ann) Ewen; Todd (Ilana) Ewen; Jeff (Penny) Ewen; Pam Ewen; Lori (Jeff) Scherer; Jason (Kellea) Ewen; Jennifer (Frank) Rizzo; Scott (Jolynn) Ewen; Kim Ewen; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Kochan, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: William L. Ewen; one son: Norbert Ewen; one granddaughter: Beth Ewen-Hoeppner; three brothers: Myron, Walter and Lawrence Kochan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. The Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the Ewen family.
Memorials would be appreciated for St. Anne Catholic Parish or Roncalli High School in Clara's name.
