Delores A. Franzen, 66, of 617 Miller Court, Kiel died Tuesday evening, April 29, 2008 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after a brief struggle with cancer.

She was the former Delores A. Propson born April 20, 1942 in Hilbert, daughter of the late Elmer & Amelia Sell Propson. Delores attended Hilbert High School. On August 6, 1960 she married Nicholas Franzen at St. John the Baptist Church, St. John. Delores operated the Kid’s Corner in Plymouth for 15 years and also sold Avon & Watkins Products for many years. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and volunteered at Rays of Hope Pantry in Kiel. Delores enjoyed traveling and playing sheepshead.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Nicholas of Kiel, two sons: David (Lisa) Franzen, Kiel, Douglas (Mary) Franzen, New Holstein and three grandchildren, Michael (Renee) Franzen, Kiel, Timothy Franzen and Tyler Franzen, both of New Holstein. She is further survived by three brothers: Ralph (Judy) Propson, Hilbert, Kenneth (Maryann) Propson, Almond, Gary (Jeanine) Propson, Hilbert, two sisters, LaVerne (Arvid) Amel, Brothertown, Delphine (Kenneth) Bodinger, Kloten, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Propson, Hilbert, Beverly (Earl) Hildebrandt, Whitelaw, Wayne (Judy) Pitman, Perryville, MO, Barbara Turner, Plymouth, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond & Marvin Propson and one grandson, Joshua Franzen.

The funeral mass for Delores will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating. Entombment will take place in Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

Family and friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th. St., Kiel on Friday, May 2, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. when brief family rites will be held. A wake service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in her name.

Delores’s family would like to thank Rev. Loren Nys for his comforting words and prayers and the Doctors and staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the wonderful care given to her.
