He married Mary Ann Zuper Oct 18, 1912 in Milroy, Redwood, Minnesota. He came to Idaho 1914 after he married to help his brothers farm. Charles and Mary moved to Boise but found no good farmland so they moved to what they called the "Homestead" 320 acres north of Boise. This is now the Forsyth Ranch on the hill by Camel's Rock of of Cartwright Road. The children spent their childhood in a one room schoolhouse just below their place, Stack Rock School. At one time all Ourada's were educating here. In fact, one of the School teachers was Anna Ourada, daughter of Gladys and Mike Ourada. They farmed here until 1927 when they moved to Boise. Farming was not good in the area due to lack of water.

Charles worked for the city of Boise making brushes for the street cleaners, until retirement in 1960. He was a blacksmith, saw sharpening, and story teller. He operated a saw filing, tool and scissor sharpening shop out of his home until 1982. He bought a lot on 19th and designed a house with a basement. He built a workshed and garage where he kept his motor scooter. He did saw sharpening by hand. He put a coal stove in the basement. Most of the cooking was done on a wood stove.

Charles and Mary celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct 8, 1962. Charles celebrated his 90 birthday at a restaurant in Boise. He was living in a senior home and had to give up his longjohns. Charlie made knives out of one or two man tree saws, played cards, played the fiddle, or told stories as well as Paul Bunyan. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church. He is buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery in Boise ID along with his wife, Mary.
