Carolyn Thomas Foremen was a scholar, historian and author, specializing in both the history of Oklahoma and in Native American culture. One of her books was Indians Abroad: 1493-1938. During World War I she was director of Women's work for the American Red Cross, in Muskogee Co., OK. She was inducted to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 1938. The Thomas-Foreman Home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. She and her husband Grant Foreman had no children.
