WEST UNION, Ill. — Joseph M. "Joe" McCrory, 96, of West Union, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, May 31, 2010, at Crawford Memorial Hospital Long-term Care in Robinson. He was born April 1, 1914, in Melrose Township in Clark County, the son of Bert McCrory and Amy Cruse McCrory. He was a retired farmer. He enjoyed woodworking.

Joe married Vivian Louise Evans on Oct. 5, 1935, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2000. He also was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Louise Ingrum; three brothers, Ira, Roy, and an infant brother; and five sisters, Fern Lockhart, Gladys Nash, Frances Shanks, Lola Belle Evans, and Opal McCrory.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Sharrell McCrory of Robinson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Rex Bonesteel, and Judy and James Misner, all of West Union; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his son-in-law, Leroy Ingrum of West Union; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lee McCrory of Robinson, and Ralph and Carolyn McCrory of Tuscola; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Helen and Don Williams of Covington, Ohio; his special niece and her husband, Jean and Jim Rains of West York; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. CDT Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, with Brother Randy Nave officiating. Burial will be at Bailiff Cemetery in Melrose Township. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bailiff Cemetery.
