Phillip C. "Tex' Taxes, 81 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was born on November 15, 1927 in Louisville, Kentucky.
He retired from LG & E as an Electrical Field Supervisor after 42 years of service and was a member of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church. Phillip was an Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, was an avid fisherman and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jay Dove and four siblings, Edward "Boo" and Albert V., Jr. "Butch" Texas, Virginia "Sis" Krebs and Jennifer Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Hockett Taxes; son, Steve (Kathy) Taxes; three daughters, Karen Feldkamp (Vince), Gretchen Dove and Kristen Roy (Greg); eight grandchildren, Carrie Harris (Brent), Claire and Alan Taxes, Hannah and Sarah Feldkamp, Nate Dove, Brooke Weber and Hallie Roy; four sisters, Neoma Gray, Julia "Sug" Coulter, Sarah Perronie and Mabel Westbay; brother, Robert Texas and was "Uncle Coonie" to all his nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 2119 Payne Street with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road.
