Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel for Richard Warren Longfellow, Sr., 62. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Mr. Longfellow, a former Muncie resident, died Saturday in Nancy, Ky., where he had been a resident for the past few months.
Mr. Longfellow was born in Muncie and spent most of his life in the Muncie and New Castle area. He moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1983 and was a truck driver for 10 years for Imperial Coatings until he retired 3 months ago. He attended the Salvation Army and was a former member of the American Legion in New Castle.
Survivors include two sons, Tim Longfellow (wife-Anna), Cleveland, Ohio, and Richard Jr. Longfellow (wife-Elizabeth), Citrus Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Delores Karnok (husband-William), Cleveland, Jackie Collins (husband-Gene), Somerset, Ky., and Cathy Nuckols (husband-Charles), Thornton, Colo.; three brothers, Chester Longfellow, Pat Longfellow (wife-Nina), and Robin Michael (wife-Judy), all of Muncie; seven sisters, Virginia Whitted (husband-Orvil), Peggy Whitted (husband-Earnest), Sherrie Anderson (husband-Loren) and Pattie Hirst (husband-Richard), all of Muncie, Barbara Thomas (husband-Odell), Gardenia, Calif., Linda Palmer, Brentwood, Tenn., and Sally Michael, Bay City, Mich.; 17 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen O. Brothers Longfellow, and his parents, Carlos and Ruby McClellan Longfellow.
