The Rev. Paul Hensel, 88, of 728 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died early Wednesday morning at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Albert Meier will officiate with burial in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Valders.
The Rev. Mr. Hensel was born Feb. 5, 1888, at Plattville, son of the Rev. Maximilian Hensel. He was a graduate of Northwestern College and a 1911 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Wauwatosa. He was a pastor in Tucson Ariz., from 1911 to 1916, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty, from 1916 to 1935, and at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Valders, from 1916 to 1974.
He married Olga Karth in 1912 at Wauwatosa. She preceded him in death in 1967.
Survivors include four sons, Rufus of St. Louis, Mo., Philemon, of Manitowoc, Daniel, of Mindoro, Wis., and the Rev. Joel, of Brant, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a brother, Fred, of Dennison, Tex.; and a sister, Irmgard of Marshfield, Wis. Two sons, Marcus and Paul, preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation. Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
