"Sylvester F. (Butch) Dubay (Dubaj) passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002. Age 89 years. The son of the late William and Edith (Michalski) Dubaj, Butch was born April 4, 1913 in Saginaw, MI. He married Mary Hintz on April 29, 1935. She predeceased him September 24, 1997. Butch was employed at Chevrolet Grey Iron for 25 years, until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Surviving are one daughter, three sons and their spouses, Marianne T. Varacka, Birch Run; Ronald and Diane Dubay, Freeland; James and Vera Dubay, Saginaw; David and Darlene Dubay, Saginaw; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Isabelle Marden; Florence Sykes; and Marion Sczkutowicz; many nieces; and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers, Dorothy Miller; Leona Tyler; Roman Dubay; Edward Dubay; Irene Hoffman; Gertrude Nizinski; and Martha Bogard.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2002, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Prayer Service 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Casimir Catholic Church or the charity of their choice."
