Obituary (Prop. Perry,Iowa newspaper) Oct. 8, 1929
PIONEER PERRY MERCHANT DIES
(Death Comes This Morning at Home 1708 Otley Avenue)
HAD BEEN ILL FOR SEVERAL MONTHS
Came to Perry Forty Three Years Ago and Entered Jewelry Business

Albert Ainley, pioneer merchant at Perry, died this morning at 10:15 a.m. at his home 1706 Otley avenue after an illness which he has suffered since last September. Death was sudden but not unexpected as Mr. Ainley had been in poor health for weeks and in serious condition during the last few days.

The aged Perry business man was stricken with heart trouble last Christmas day and since that time has gradually failed. During the months that followed he at times enjoyed periods of fair health which (Picture of Albert Ainley) aided him in continuing his fight for recovery. His age together with the persistent nature of his illness did not permit recuperation and death came this morning.

Mr Ainley was 75 years of age and was a native of Illinois. Forty three years ago fresh from training in a watch factory at Elgin he came to this city. He immediately became associated with Mr. C.H. Ainley, one of the early mayors of Perry, in business. Mr Ainley opened a small jewelry store in a portion of the hardware store owned by C.H. Ainley and remained in that location for seventeen years after coming to the city.

At that time he made his home at the present location where he has lived since. Mr Ainley later operated at his trade in another location and in 1913 became associated with his son, Oscaar Ainley in the Ainley Book store. Since that time he has been actively engaged in the business until his health failed last Christmas.

Mr. Ainley retained until his final illness an eregetic spirit which found him daily at work in his store. He was a progressive industrious type of business man who found in his work a deep enjoyment which brought him no small measure of success.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, in his immediate family. The sons are Oscar A. Ainley and Bruce A. Ainley the latter of Hollywood, Cal. Five grandchildren survive him. One brother, Charles of California re??alus of the family of 12.
