Monday, November 5, 1990

Gracie MANNS, 84, Rt. 1, Akron (Rock Lake), died at 8:54 p.m. Sunday in Woodlawn Hospital, shortly after admission.

She was born Nov. 2, 1906 in Magoffin County, Ky., to Green and Rose MARSHALL BARNETT. She moved from Magoffin County to this community in April 1941. On July 14, 1924 in Magoffin County she married Mitchell MANNS, who died Nov. 22, 1972. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Marshallville, Ky.

Surviving are three sons, Bradie and Oscar [MANNS], Akron, and Carmel [MANNS], Silver Lake; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. Preceding in death were a daughter, Chelsie [MANNS], in 1927; a grandson, Roger [MANNS], in 1966, and three brothers, Hargos, Freddie and Kernie [BARNETT].

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. David DELP officiating. Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
