Thelma E. BARNETT, 92, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake. formerly of Akron, died 10:20 a.m. Thursday at her residence.
Born in Akron to Cornelius and Opal SHOWALTER WAECHTER, she married Ben F. BARNETT in Oct. 1927 in Akron. He died Sept. 11, 1980.
Mrs. Barnett was retired from Gatke Corp., Warsaw. She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church and had been in the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Polly and husband Gene BURR, Warsaw, and Anita and husband John McMILLAN, Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Max and wife Joan BARNETT, Indianapolis; three sisters, Elizbeth MILLER, Treasure Island, Fla., Jane LANTZ, Fort Wayne, and Laura MINELLI, Elkhart; one brother, Max WAECHTER, Treasure Island, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter [WAECHTER] and Telford WAECHTER.
A memorial service will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. The Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Grace Village Retirement Community, P.O. Box 337, Wooster Road. Winona Lake, IN 46590.
