North Adams - Elaine A (Benoit) Angeli, 54, of 97 Front St., was dead on arrival Saturday at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier by an apparent heart attack at home. She had been in failing health for the last three years. She worked for Cornish Wire Division of General Cable Co. of Pownal, Vt. and retired in 1979. She was born in North Adams, attended its schools, and was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Church. She leaves her husband Louis T Angeli, three daughters Mrs David (Rosetta) Perras and Mrs Mark (Albina) Affhauser of North Adams, and Debra Nichlen of New York City, two sons James C Nichlen and Frederick Nichlen of North Adams, three sisters Mrs Ralph (Pearl) Tatro of Stamford, Vt., Mrs William (Mary) Caprari and Mrs Vincent (Eunice) DiGennaro of North Adams, four brothers Clifford, Eugene and George Benoit of North Adams, and Sidney Benoit of Clarksburg and 18 grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at the church with burial in Southview Cemetery. Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals in charge.
