Death of Mrs John Addie

Death summoned from our midst an aged resident when Mrs John Addie quietly crossed the border land into the home of the soul to be free from sorrow and pain, March 2, 1921, at the residence of her son, George Addie.

Christina Beveridge was born May 17, 1843 in Kinross Shire, Scotland, and was married to John Addie at Johnstown Center, Wis, Septe 25 of 1868, who preceded her in death less than a year ago. She is survived by three sons, John Addie of Armour, S.D.; Edward Addie of Hastings, Neb; and George Addie of this city. Her daughter Margaret, who was the wife of John Mainland, died in 1893.

There are three grandchildren, Clair Mainland, Leslie Mainland and Mrs Bert Richmond, all of Hannibal, Mo. There are also two great grandchildren.

Mrs Addie has been a resident of Cumberland for the past 18 years, a well liked neighbor and a patient Christian.

During the last seven years she was very helpless.

Funeral services will be held at the residence of her son, Geo Addie, at 1:30 Sunday and at the Congregational church at 2:00. Rev J H Bielefield will officiate.
