BONNETT, Shirley Beatrice - age 74, of Swartz Creek, returned to her heavenly Father on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with Fr. Gene D. Geromel, Jr., S.S. C. officiating. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 11 AM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions in Shirley's memory to St. Bartholomew Anglican Church. Shirley was born April 29, 1935 in Trimountain, MI, the daughter of John and Beatrice (Brimabombe) Brody. She was a 1953 graduate of Cheboygan High School and married Dale E. Bonnett on April 4, 1959 in Charlotte, MI and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2002. Shirley resided in Swartz Creek since 1963. She was a medical assistant and teacher at Mott Adult High School. Shirley was an active member of St. Bartholomew Anglican Church where she was the organist and a member of the Altar Guild. She was a Red Cross volunteer and coordinated blood drives for 28 years. Shirley was a 15-year liver transplant survivor, spokesperson for organ and tissue donation, member of the Transplant Support Group, and Sjogrens Support Group. She fostered 54 babies over 17 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, William (Teri) of Perrysburg, OH, and Kerry (Jayne Guile) of Flint; grandchildren, Shawn, Michael, Christopher and Jordan; sister, Rosalind A. Brody; brothers, Kenneth H. and Joseph W. Brody, and many dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pearl Brody; brother, John Brody.
