Joseph Carey when a child removed with his family to Providence, RI. Married first Ruth Carew on Nov 6, 1763 in Rhode Island. She died June 24, 1769. Married second, Zeruah Hutchins, Jan 8, 1772, Killingly, CT; he removed to Plainfield, CT, and afterward to Richfield, Otsego Co., NY., where he died in 1818, and his widow in 1828. He had 10 children, one son, Samuel and two daughters, Ruth and Elizabeth from first marriage.

Elizabeth B: Aug 28, 1764 Married Mr. Hicks, Prov. RI.
Naba B: April 9, 1782 D: 1813, Plainfield, CT.
Augustus B: Feb 2, 1788 D: without issue, 1857, Middlefield, NY.
