Katherine E. Bailey, 82, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland. Visitation is 5:00-8:00pm today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2:00pm Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Katherine was a lifelong resident of Rankin County and a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Pearl for more than 70 years. She was former Chaplain of The Daughters of the Nile and her hobbies included square dancing with her husband, listening to music and watching TV. She loved nature and enjoyed watching birds and animals. She was known simply as "Nannie" to all who loved and will miss her.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James "Jack" Bailey, Sr.; daughters, Linda Sue Dyess and Sandra "Sandy" Parish and husband Winston; son, James Bailey, Jr. and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Robin Parish, Daphne Ware, Tracie Welsch and husband Mike, Derrick Dyess and wife Corrie, Marsha Dyess Daves, Jimmy Bailey and Emily Bailey; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Caleb Dyess, Abigail and Lailah Daves, Nick, Bailey Parish and Anneke Welsch; sister, Joe Ann Peets; brother, Lloyd Cutrer and wife Katherine; and sisters-in-law, Irene and Emma Cutrer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nettie Cutrer, brothers, C.L. and Curtis Cutrer, sisters, Bessie Harvey and Marcie Pace; and grandson, Richie Dyess.

Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church of Pearl, Hospice Ministries or the donor's charity of choice.
