MARION - Mrs. Mattie Belle Daniel Brown, 78, widow of Pharoah C. Brown, died Tuesday at a Marion hospital.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ariel Baptist Church. Burial will be in Gapway Baptist Cemetery, directed by Cox Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Stephen L. Daniel and Demaris Floyd Daniel. She was a member of Ariel Baptist Church.
Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. David Haselden of Latta, Mrs. Frank Drew of Rains, Mrs. Amon Avant of Myrtle Beach, Mrs. Bascom Baine of Winston Salem, N.C., Mrs. Gliss P. Cribb, Mrs. Jane C. White, Mrs. William L. Coleman and Mrs. Tony Atkinson, all of Marion; a son, Chalmers L. Brown of Marion; a brother, J. F. Daniel of Mullins; a sister, Mrs. Minnie D. Sullivan of Mullins; 29 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
