"Mrs. Lida Bryant died at her home in this village last Sunday night. She was born in Scipio, Cayuga county, September 18, 1818. In 1843 she was united in marriage to Walter Bryant, and, and shortly afterwards they moved to Wayland, and have been loosely identified with the prosperity of this village. Her husband died in December, 1898. She is survived by one son and one daughter, Colonel and Bell, both of this village, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. The funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. S.S. Mizener and Dr. Arthur N. Smith officiating. Interment in village cemetery."
