Rose Blevins, 91, a long time resident of Auburn, and widow of the late Charles Blevins, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1965, at the Butler Rest Home. In failing health for the past four years, Mrs. Blevins had been admitted to the rest home in Butler about a year ago. Her death was attributed to the complications of age. The body was removed to the Dilgard & Cline Funeral Home in Auburn where friends may call after noon Saturday.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. V.F. Owens, pastor of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery near Auburn.
Mrs. Blevins, a native of Avilla, was born Aug. 30, 1873, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Pfister. In a ceremony performed Oct. 9, 1896, she was married to Charles Blevins, who died in 1937. For several years preceding her admittance to the rest home, Mrs. Blevins had resided in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harold Hartman, 227 S. Cedar St., Auburn.
Surviving, besides the daughter in Auburn, are another daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hackenburg, Three Rivers, MI; four sons, William Blevins of 1007 S. Cedar St., Auburn, George Blevins, 1320 Sprott St., Auburn, Harry Blevins, 808 N. Cedar St., Auburn and Robert Blevins, 1008 S. Cedar St., Auburn; a brother, Joseph Pfister, Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Kate Myers, Albion; 22 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Blevins was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Auburn.
