Phyllis Jean (Sanders) Alderman was born July 26, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to Walter and Marie (Gof) Sanders.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Eden Crest in Des Moines at the age of 82.
Family meant everything to Phyllis and she was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved art and was a very talented artist. Phyllis enjoyed fishing, watching “Price is Right”, and scratch lottery tickets. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dale; children, Michael, Gary (Tami), Ted (Karen), Rose (Jack), Penny (Arnold), and Randy Joe; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie; children, Dale Jr. and Terry; and all twelve of her siblings.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1st at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 2nd, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
