Eleanor C. Clasen, age 94, a former resident of River Woods Place and current resident of River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, October 18, 2015 at River's Bend.
Eleanor was born on August 31, 1921 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Swarts) Staudt Sr. She attended St. Boniface Parochial School and Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On September 27, 1952 she married Orin Clasen at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2001. Eleanor loved tending her flower gardens. Eleanor and Orin enjoyed fishing in Hayward, WI as well as many other locations. She spent time volunteering in various ways and loved being with people. Eleanor was also a loving Godmother to many children.
Survivors include four brothers and five sisters-in-law: Donald and Doris Staudt, Raymond and Marilyn Staudt, Leroy and Delores Staudt, all of Manitowoc, Gerald and Marilyn Staudt, Oak Lawn IL, and LaVange Wilda, Florida. Eighteen nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Orin Clasen; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Robert and Alice Staudt and Wayne Staudt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Warden. Following services, cremation will occur at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
Memorials may be made in Eleanor's name to River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center or the charity of your choice .
