“The death of Mrs. Addie Mae Bartz occurred at her home on Main street Monday evening, after an illness of over three months. Mrs. Bartz was born in this village, May 1, 1864, a daughter of William and Katherine Totten. She was married January 1, 1882, to William Bartz and their entire married life had been spent in this vicinity. Mrs. Bartz was a member of the M.E. church and for years was an active worker in that church. Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Earl G., of Cortland; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Bombard of this village; three brothers, J.H. Totten of Perry, Fred Totten and M.M. Totten, both of Wayland; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a wide circle of friends… Burial will be in the local cemetery.”
