Ronceverte, Aug 11. - Mr John L Arritt passed away at his home in East Ronceverte, on Monday Aug 5 at 5:30 am after a lingering illness of tuberculosis of the stomach, aged 53 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was born in Alleghany county, Virginia, Dec 16, 1863 and leaves to mourn his departure a wife and three small children, five brothers - Mose Arritt of Monroe county; Dan of Potts Creek; Perry Wright, of Botetourt county, Va; Andrew and Joe, of Ronceverte. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev R L Kinnaird, after which he was laid to rest in Riverview cemetery beside his mother.

He married 2) Neta May Green December 10, 1908. He passed away on August 5, 1917 at Ronceverte, Greenbrier County,
West Virginia. His second wife died many years later in 1967.
