On her gravestone it says, "Farewell Dear Mother, Sweet thy Rest". Her full name in the Swedish Household Records and on her marriage license is Johanna Christina Peterson. She was born in Hulu, Ramkvilla, Jönköpings län, Sweden. She received her transfer letter allowing her to emigrate on November 18, 1880. She meet August Alm in St Paul, Minnesota at a friend's house. They were married November 23, 1882, in Forest Lake. They had six children: Lillie Hima 1883-1886, Edwin 1884-1886, Esther Lillian 1886-1957, Ed (Edward Ahlm) 1888-1948, Freda (Fritz) Christine 1889-1989, and Arthur William Ahlm 1891-1980. When she was ill she was taken to Rochester where she died. From her probate records it is believed she had a brain tumor.
