MELVILLE ~ Private services will be held at a later date for John A. "Baba" Savant, age 76, who passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. at his residence in Melville.
Mr. Savant was a native of Woodside and a resident of Melville.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, the former Joyce Moreau of Melville; two grandchildren, Megan Renee Savant and Johnathon Jude Savant; three great grandchildren; five brothers, Daniel Savant, Ray Savant, Larry Savant, Etsy Savant and Raymond Savant; and three sisters, Evelyn Savant, Aileen Savant and Ann Savant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Savant and the former, Hazel Dozas; two sons, John Allen Savant and Jerry Lane Savant; two brothers, Johnny Savant and Joseph Savant.
