Obituary Transcript
"Final rites for WILLIE JAMES EPPERSON were held Sunday at 12 noon from the Union Baptist Church. Burial was in the Union Cemetery. Mr. Epperson died Wednesday at 10 p.m. at his home in Jefferson. The son of Herman and Rebecca Epperson, he was born January 8, 1920. Mr. Epperson's body laid in state from 8 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday at the Marion County Funeral Home chapel.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Siberia Epperson; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Verma Lee Sheppard, of Dallas; one stepson, Clement Jefferson, of San Francisco, California; five step-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Frankie Lee Bunley, of Houston; seven sisters, Miss Mattie Mae Epperson, Mrs. Louise Wagoner, Miss Mamie Lee Epperson, Miss Sallie Jean Epperson, Mrs. Janie Williams, all of Jefferson, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Louden and Miss Sara Ann Epperson, both of Dallas; and eight brothers, James D. Epperson, Robert Earl Epperson, Raymond Epperson, Clarence Earl Epperson, all of Jefferson, Clifford Epperson and Jimmy Epperson, both of Dallas, Herman Epperson Jr., of Los Angeles, California, and James Epperson, of Fort Hood."
