ELIZABETH COPPLE BURIED SATURDAY IN MALTA CEMETERY (Oct 1965)
Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Copple, 88, who died Sept. 28 at hte Malta hospital, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Malta cemetery. ]

Elizabeth Risk Copple was born Aug 29, 1877, at Williamstown, Missouri, to Ed and Annie Baker, one of 13 children. While she was still a baby her parents moved to Kansas. In 1897 she married John Wesley Copple in Kansas. Six children were born to this union.

Copple came to Montana in 1913 to homestead and she and the family joined him one year later. Four more children were born here. Later they moved to Bowdoin where they lived five years. They moved to Black Coulee where they lived for 12 years before coming to Malta in 1937 where she made her home until the time of her death.
