Galen E Bedger

Galen E Bedger, 59, Denver R2, died at 12:50a.m. yesterday at Ephrata Community Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. Death followed an illness of nine months.
Born in West Cocalico Township, he was the son of the late William Bedger and Mrs Alice Hertzog Bedger, Denver R2.
A life-long resident of the township in which he was born,he was a member of Bergstrasse Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Church Council.
Mr. Bedger was an Army veteran of World War II and belonged to the Cocalico Post 3376, VFW of Ephrata and Cloister Post 429, American Legion also of Ephrata.
A member of the Shoeneck Fire Company, he was employed for 30 years by Armstrong Cork Company, Lancaster.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his widow, Irene B Lausch Bedger; two daughters, Judy, wife of Eugene Johnston and Jean, wife of Kenneth Beamesderfer, and two stepsons, Donald and Kenneth Shimp, all of Denver R2; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Roseboro Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev Lester E Rudisill officiating.
Interment will follow in Mellinger's Cemetery, Schoeneck.
